USA 2006 TIRE
RULE
-
The Hoosier 970 is the Official Tire for the USA
Modified Series in 2006. It will be used at races 1 thru 17 on
the USA Schedule. At race 18, the Winchester Event, the Goodyear
2562/3-2663/2472 tire will be used by all racers. No softening
or grooving of tires allowed. No recaps allowed. USA officials
reserve the right to durometer tires at any time. Soaking of
tires is strictly prohibited. Penalty…loss of purse and
points, five (5) race suspension, $1000 fine.
This rule applies to all tires in the pits, on
the car, in the trailer or hauler, all tires!
-
Tires can only be purchased at the
track and must be branded and marked by USA
Officials.
-
Racers will be allowed to purchase four (4) new
tires at the first two (2) USA events. At the remaining 15
events racers will be limited to no more than two
(2) tires per event. Winchester will be four (4) tires.
-
All new tires purchased must be run in hot laps
(No stickers for qualifying.)
-
New racers, that race at race 3 thru 17, with
no branded tire inventory, can only purchase up to two (2)
new branded tires at the track and must buy two (2) used
tires from a racer. Racers may run four (4) used branded tires
if he/she so chooses.
-
All new tires purchased at an event must
be run at that event. (No stock piling of tires)
-
In the event of a cut or flat spotted tire USA
Officials will rule on re-placement.
-
The intent of this Tire Rule is to save the racer
excessive tire expense. Tire management is the key to getting
the most out of this rule. Any racer caught undermining this
rule will be penalized by USA Officials. All decisions of the
USA Officials are final.
-
Tires are $100.00 plus tax and mounted free on
bare rims. All dismounts are $5.00 each. Bare rims
will be mounted first…rims with take offs will be mounted
last.

2006 FRAZIER RACING PLANS
We look for 2006 to be an exciting year for the Frazier Racing
team. Dan is planning to run on Friday nights at Spartan Speedway
in the modified division for the 2006 points championship. In
addition the team plans to do some traveling with the new modified
as part of the USA Modified tour. Tracks that we are planning on
visiting with the modified in 2006 include, Indianapolis Raceway
Park, IN (IRP), Kalamazoo Speedway (3 times), Mansfield
Motorsports Speedway, OH, Anderson Speedway, IN, Angola Motor
Speedway, IN, and Winchester Speedway, IN.
The team also plans to field a full time Limited Late Model entry
at Kalamazoo Speedway on Saturday nights in 2006. In the teams
most recent development Matt Weenink will join our team next
season. Matt will return to the drivers seat after a two year
absence from driving. Matt is a fast learner and ran very well
when he competed with his own entry in the Factory Stock Division
at Kalamazoo Speedway, winning races as well as finishing in the
top five in points two years in a row. Even though this will be
the first time Matt has driven a Limited Late, it will not take
him long to see the winners circle again.
Matt and Dan will both drive the Limited at Kalamazoo in 2006 and
will be racing for wins versus racing for the season points
championship. Dan and Matt have been friends since they both raced
against each other on Friday nights at the track formerly known as
M-40 in Jones, MI. Both of them are excited about what next season
holds for them and look forward to getting back on the race track
this Spring.
There are also some exciting developments in the future with our
current and future marketing partners. When those deals are
locked, you can read about them first by visiting our web site,
www.frazierracing.com.
2/2/06:
Curry Motorsports plans on running the USA
Modifieds in 2006.
Curry Motorsports will field a 2 car team with veteran late model
driver Bob Curry and young gun Steve Curry. Bob has been racing
for over 30 years winning a few championships and lots of feature
races, he has spent most of the last 5 years racing a late model
at Berlin race way. Steve will be in only his third year behind
the wheel but won rookie of the year at Spartan speedway in 2004
and won the racers rumble this year at Springport motor speedway.
1/30/06:
Seitz Motorsports from Hicksville, Ohio have
announced they will compete in the USA Modified Series for the
2006 season. Driving for Seitz Motorsports will be Brian Demland
who is also from Hicksville, Ohio. This will be Brian’s first full
season of modified racing. Brian started racing karts in 1991 and
then in 2001 he moved up to highly popular and very competitive
mini-sprints in the tri state area of Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.
Brian started driving for Seitz Motorsports in the summer of 2005
at the Angola Motor Speedway near Angola, Indiana.
