Winchester IN (March 13, 2008) -
”The BIG ONE” is coming and it should be the race to see in 2008.
Charlie Shaw’s Historic Winchester Speedway will host the O’Reilly
USA Modified Series and the American Modified Series in an all out
battle to crown the greatest modified driver of all time on Sunday,
July 20th, 2008. This race will not only pit man and
machine against one another, but also against the wicked High Banks
of Winchester Speedway. With over $17,000 dollars in prize money up
for grabs, these un-limited cubic inch, open wheel missiles on
wheels, will put on a show of spectacular driving and cunning as
they race their way into history.
“This is a great opportunity for
both Modified Series to come together and battle for a great deal of
money,” remarked Charlie Stapleton, co-owner of the AMS Modified
Series. “We would like to invite any modified drivers, whether you
compete with either series or not to come and race in “The BIG ONE”
at Winchester Speedway. Both Series run under the United Rules
Package, but on different tires. This will be the first race where
each Series will run there own respective tire, once again in an
effort to help control costs.”
“With the abundance of great
modified drivers in the tri-state area and through out the Mid-west,
we felt it was time to show case these great drivers and their
unique racing machines here at Winchester Speedway,” remarked R.J.
Scott, Managing Partner of Champion Racing Association, the
promoters of Winchester Speedway for owner Charlie Shaw. “We look
forward to hosting this event and seeing which Modified driver
conquers the High Banks in winning ‘The BIG ONE’.”
