STACY CLAIMS WINCHESTER

“RUN FOR THE GUN”

10.13.07…Winchester, IN…Dave Stacy claimed the “Winchester Rifle” trophy and the fifteen hundred dollar first place prize money in the second annual running of Winchester Speedway’s “Run for the Gun.” Thirty four USA/AMS Modifieds showed up to try and make the twenty four car field and a chance to win the “Winchester Rifle” trophy. Qualifications would find Veteran Harold Scott setting fast time with a 16.537, and a average speed of over 108 MPH. At the drop of the green, front row starters Corey Setser and Chris “The Kid” Neuenschwander, raced hard into turn one. By lap five Springer, Stacy, and Tomasik, had made it by the front row cars and were beginning to pull away. Then the “Big One” happened, Don Skaggs, trying the low side on Setser in between turn three and four, made contact with his left rear quarter, spinning him in front of a hard charging group. When the smoke cleared and a brief red flag, no less than seven cars were out with damage to great to continue. On the re-start Enon, Ohio’s Dave Stacy would take the lead and go on to win the second annual Winchester Speedway “Run for the Gun.” Brad Springer would run second, followed by Scotty Tomasik, Scott Coe and Ross Klingelhoff. The USA Modified Series will travel to Nashville TN. and the Historic Music City Motorplex for the “North/South Shootout” Saturday October 20, for more info go to www.usamodifieds.com
