“RUN
FOR THE GUN”

Stacy claimed the “Winchester Rifle” trophy and the fifteen
hundred dollar first place prize money in the second annual
running of Winchester Speedway’s “Run for the Gun.” Thirty four
USA/AMS Modifieds showed up to try and make the twenty four car
field and a chance to win the “Winchester Rifle” trophy.
Qualifications would find Veteran Harold Scott setting fast time
with a 16.537, and a average speed of over 108 MPH. At the drop
of the green, front row starters Corey Setser and Chris “The
Kid” Neuenschwander, raced hard into turn one. By lap five
Springer, Stacy, and Tomasik, had made it by the front row cars
and were beginning to pull away. Then the “Big One” happened,
Don Skaggs, trying the low side on Setser in between turn three
and four, made contact with his left rear quarter, spinning him
in front of a hard charging group. When the smoke cleared and a
brief red flag, no less than seven cars were out with damage to
great to continue. On the re-start Enon,
Ohio’s Dave Stacy would
take the lead and go on to win the second annual Winchester
Speedway “Run for the Gun.” Brad Springer would run second,
followed by Scotty Tomasik, Scott Coe and Ross Klingelhoff. The
USA Modified Series will travel to Nashville TN. and the
Historic Music City Motorplex for the “North/South Shootout”
