USA POINT SYSTEM UNDER FIRE
Fortville IN

The USA Modified Series 2006 point system has come under fire of late by many of the USA competitors. “The system is unfair and penalizes the racers that support the series!” explained one USA racer. This year, unlike previous years, a racer could throw out his worst two finishes of the 2006 season. In doing so the points really came out quite different than what was posted all year long on the USA web site. “It took one racer, Brad Springer, that should have run second in points and dropped him to fourth.” Explained USA Series Director Keith Beeching. “It’s unfortunate that we didn’t anticipate the problems that would come with this new point system and we are sorry for any misunderstanding about it. We will return to our old system in 2007 and hope things will return to normal!”
